grandma's quilt

I don't remember when I received this quilt from my mother.  She used it for many years on her bed and at some point, she gifted it to me.  My grandmother, my mother's mother started this quilt, and she gave it to my mother and she finished it.  I did use it for quite a few years but noticed that the fabric was starting to fray in one area, so I packed it up and stored it away.

I've been thinking about this quilt lately and decided to try and fix it.  I thought it turned out nice and doesn't look like a brand-new piece of fabric that has been added which I didn't want to happen.

I thought also if I wanted to hang onto this anymore and who could I gift it to.  I have daughters who have either a quilt or something from my mother, but I didn't know if my brothers only daughter had received anything from her grandmother.  She did not, so I am gifting this to her to enjoy.  The fabric in this quilt I believe is mostly from feed/flour sacks and fabric from a shirt my father made in high school in his sewing class that he took.  He didn't sew anything else after that class, and I'm not really sure why he had to take a sewing class, I'm thinking it was either that or typing.

I can't remember when I received this quilt from my mother.

perched eagles

This panel was bought at an auction by a friend, unfinished, so I took it home and finished it.

mystery five-0

I am so excited to be joining Mystery Five-O.  I went this morning to get my 6 fat-quarter bundle that my local quilt shop offers.  I learned that there will be 3 table toppers to make before the main mystery quilt starts, so I bought 3 bundles.  The first mini mystery already happened so I will be starting on the second one.  I will be able to make the first one and get the pattern at the end of the month.

I totally can't wait to start, it's going to be a long month.

moms quilt

Before my mom passed away, she had given me some of her quilting projects.  My mom didn't do a lot of quilting, more alterations of clothes and sewing her own garments.  I took this on a retreat and finally finished what she had started and can't wait to put it on the frame and quilt it.

some quilting done

At the last retreat I went on I made these small stockings, though they were small they seemed to take forever to make.

This quilt I have had for I'm guessing about 7 years and finally made it.  I still need to quilt it and maybe put some applique on it.

Finally got this quilt on the frame and I was going to give it away but hubby took a shine to it, so I guess I am keeping it.

I still have a lot of tops to get on the frame and hopefully I will post them soon.

graduation quilt for aubs

I've been making quilts for the grandkid's graduation, for them to take to college or wherever their path takes them.  This photo really doesn't do the fabric justice.

I went on another retreat :) Here are a few projects I worked on while there and my two quilting buddies.

quilt retreat projects

Projects I got done last February.  I still need to quilt them, except the bag which is done.  The bag turned out too cute and I use it for my crocheting projects I do when we travel.

spring wreath

I fell in love with this wreath, the wreath which was so much fun is crocheted.  I also have 3 more kits for each season.  I really need to get going on the summer one.

fort drum

My son who was in the Army had asked me to make him a quilt that represented the last fort he was stationed at before he was discharged from the Army.

placemat or trivet

I found this cute placemat panel a few years ago and finally dug it out of my fabric stash and decided to make some trivets.  These are actually very nice for casserole dishes.  I made them much like you would make potholders.  They turned out so cute.

quilt cruise quilt

This was the quilt I made on the quilting cruise that I had gone on in September 2019.  It was a color cruise that went up the east coast from Newark New Jersey to Saint John Canada.

We actually just worked on a 1/4 of the quilt and the rest I had finished when I got home.  This was a Judy Niemeyer quilt that is paper pieced.  The colors were picked out for us so these colors were not something I would have picked but I do like the quilt after it was all done.

luna and aurora

These two quilts were made for twin girls that were named Luna for the moon and Aurora for the northern lights and I was able to quilt them on my longarm together.

These quilts were a joy to make.

disappearing nine patch

I found a YT channel where this awesome lady makes quilts that are so easy to make.

I made this quilt with some scrap Christmas fat quarters that I had in my stash and what fabric wasn't a fat quarter I made my own.
